keep the units hidden.

Clanners had pretty solid strategy. Take all Jump capable/Pulse
boats...use the Jumping to make it tougher for the ComGuard units to hit, while
keeping good numbers with the pulse lasers. Clanners also rolled pretty
well for skills, both the Daishi and Turk were 0/1's.
The ComGuards could set up Hidden in the city, and were also given 8
"Improved" tank positions to use if they wished.
Level 1 Zell was in effect, so the Clanners couldn't gang up on a ComGuard mech
that stuck it's head out of a building.
Here is a shot of the City...Clanners entered from the bottom of the
shot...attempting to clear the city of Comguards.

Clanners Advance, on Turn #2 one of the Demolishers took an Ambush shot on the
Clan Guillotine IIC...one of the AC20 rounds hit the head. Scratch one
clan mech. Demolisher didn't make it through the fire phase, as return
fire from the other clanners was brutal.

The ComGuard Nightstar stuck his head out, and from long range popped the
Highlander IIC with a gauss round and a ERPPC shot, a poor roll and the
Highlander fell over. This was the only bad round for the Clanners,
although at the time it looked like they might be in trouble.
Attempting to sweep the area of other tanks the Elementals jumped ahead of the
other clanners. They just missed spotting three tanks. The next
turn the tanks opened up on the Rifleman IIC, taking off one of the legs and
arms. The Rifleman pilot rolled REALLY well and stood up the next turn.
The Brave little comguard Guillotine eneded up facing off against the Clan
Turk. Most of the game, the Turk had a better target

The Nova and one of Elementals ran down to deal with the Nightstar. The Nightstar
put of a good fight, but fell in the end.

Having flushed out the War Dog, the Clanners advance attempting to eliminate
the ECM unit that is jamming their three Active Probes. As teh Daishi
moves up the Orange King Crab takes and ambush shot, misses with one ac20 and
puts the other in the left torso. The White King Crab comes out at the
start of the shooting phase (Turkana didn't get close enough for the "point
blank shot") and misses one AC20 shot and puts the other into the right
arm.

Lesson learned from this mission...taking the ambush shot may not always be the
best choice...especially when there are mechs still left to move...mechs that
could get to your rear armor. This is just what the Mad Cat did to the
Orange King Crab...Lrg pulse, Med Pulse and 3 SRM's hit the rear CT armor,
giving 4 chances for crits...rolled three crits...all three hit the
engine. Scratch one King Crab.

The next turn was not much better for the ComGuards. As the Daishi closes
in and finishes off the War Dog...the ThunderHawk emerges and hits and arm and
a leg on the Daishi with two gauss rounds. The Turkina floating crits the
right torso of the White king crab, and touches off the AC20 ammo, case keeps
the King crab alive...but the prior head hit and shock from the ammo going off
are too much for the Mechwarrior...goodnight gracie.

With an untouched Thunderhawk, a pretty beat up Guillotine and a Nightstar with
a serious case of "The Elementals" being all that was left for the
Comguards we called the game there.
Game came down to a couple of things...Great build by the Clan player, taking
only Jumping mechs with Pulse lasers helped them quite a bit in the city
setting. Poor pilot rolls for the Comguards, The Nightstar rolled up a
2/3 mechwarrior, one King Crab rolled a 3/4, the rest of the mechs had 4
gunners on the Veteran chart. Great pilot rolls for the clanners, the
Daishi and Turkina had 0/1 pilots off the elite chart.
Clanners again only lost one mech, to a headshot from and ambush
position. Comguards were soundly trounced again. Will they have a
better showing next month against the Ghost Bears?
